About Us

At Breaking Cycles Foundation, we are committed to helping individuals overcome the barriers of poverty, violence, and other challenges that have impacted Nashville’s inner-city communities for generations. Guided by our faith, we believe in providing more than just assistance—we aim to create pathways to lasting transformation and empowerment.

Our Story

At Breaking Cycles Foundation, our journey is one of community, collaboration, and empowerment. Our founder, Antuan J. Foxx, brings a deep commitment to Nashville's growth and resilience through active involvement in projects that uplift and engage the community.

As a 2024 Committee member for Participatory Budgeting (PB) in Nashville and Davidson County, Antuan represents Districts 3 and 10 and serves on the Community Engagement sub-committee. This initiative allows Nashville residents to voice their ideas and influence how public funds are allocated, making budgets more equitable, democratic, and effective. Through PB, Antuan and the foundation encourage residents to bring their ideas forward, helping shape a stronger Nashville.

Our story is woven through community events like the Annual Back 2 School Block Party in collaboration with Change For Change Youth Foundation, Forever Don Foundation, and Bridge The Gap Youth Foundation. Each August, we come together with families at South Inglewood Park to celebrate and support students with food, music, games, school supplies, and a spirit of unity.

In partnership with Book’em, a local nonprofit dedicated to promoting literacy, Breaking Cycles Foundation also plays a role in helping bring books and reading mentors to underprivileged youth in Davidson County. Through the Big Book DRIVE, we ensure children in need have access to books—an invaluable foundation for learning and growth.

Our story is about breaking barriers, fostering hope, and creating opportunities for Nashville’s communities to thrive. Join us in building a future where each person has the resources, encouragement, and support to break free from limiting cycles and reach their fullest potential.

Passionate Leaders, Faithful Service

Are you stuck in yesterday? Confused about today? Unsure of tomorrow? In many families, the past has a way of repeating itself, creating generational cycles that can weigh us down—cycles that often include depression, addiction, abuse, dependency, and feelings of abandonment. These patterns can feel impossible to escape, impacting not only us but future generations.

Antuan J. Foxx knows firsthand the struggle of breaking free from such cycles. Through the grace of God, he was able to overcome the stronghold of generational patterns in his own life. Jesus healed the pain of Antuan’s past, replacing it with courage, peace, and a renewed sense of purpose. Now, he’s committed to sharing that promise with others, offering a path to live each day in freedom through Christ.

Antuan’s mission is to inspire others to break their own cycles and embrace the life they were meant to live—one filled with purpose, resilience, and hope.
